Government of Uttarakhand organizes Jungle Safari in Rishikesh at Rajaji National Park. The Open-Jeep Safari is extremely fun and exciting and one can truly feel the wilderness at its best. It is a brilliant opportunity for anyone to enjoy wilderness and a unique landscape of the Jungle. Jungle Safari in Rishikesh is famous for sightings of Asian Elephants, King Cobra, Tigers, Sambhar, Himalayan Black bear, etc. It is also an opportunity to see over 315 species of birds during the Safari. Rajaji National Park was established in 1983, when 3 prominant wildlife sanctuaries: Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji of Uttar Pradesh were merged into one and came to known as the Rajaji National Park. Rajaji National Park is spread over 820.42 Sq. Km of Shiwalik bio-diversity.

Jungle Safari in Rishikesh that starts from Chilla is a fixed 34 kilometre long track meant for wild life Jeep safari. The Safari lasts for about 2-3 hours in which the Jeep takes you deep inside the jungle through a rough and rugged terrain. The Rajaji National Park and the Jungle Safari is famous for spottings of the asian Elephant, Striped Hyena, Leopard, Barking Deer, Neel Gaye, Wild Boar, etc. and beautiful rare birds like Great indian hornbill, Kingfishers, Blue headed Thrush, Oriental white eye, etc.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Day 1: Early morning, arrival at Rajaji National Park, go for the Jeep Jungle Safari in Rishikesh. 34 Kms long track takes about 2-3 hours. After Jungle Safari, report at campsite in Rishikesh for Breakfast. After rest, time for rappelling followed by lunch. Leave for trekking to the waterfall, evening tea, bonfire and snacks in the evening. After dinner, overnight in camps.

Day 2: After Breakfast, leave for River Rafting in Rishikesh, we shall hit some of the famous Grade IV Rapids and trying cliff jumping and body surfing on the Ganges.
